HFDC Final Message

Happy 1st Father's Day Chet aka Daddy!

Chester-Gabriel, Louie, Callie, and myself love you soooo much! I hope you know how much we appreciate all that you do for us and the sacrifices you make to keep us happy and well. I cannot believe we've been parents to a beautiful son for 5 months. I am looking forward to watching our son grow and seeing him take after you.
Happy Father's Day!

HFDC Part 6

Don't take life too seriously! Forgive easily! Laugh & smile often! Just have FUN & enjoy!!
Gabriel's mommy takes life a little too seriously at times and that is why her husband is her "better" half-he is so easy going. I hope Gabriel takes after his father and becomes a kid that can just enjoy life and not worry about things too much.

HFDC Part 5

My Daddy taught me...

How to stand [and eventually how to walk].

To enjoy sports and most importantly, Carolina basketball.

To "read" medical journals...ha ha!!
Chester, I look forward to seeing Gabriel learn from you. I know that you have so much knowledge to pass on to your son. I think that you will be able to teach Gabriel the value of adollar, how to treat women with respect, how to steer clear of trouble & stay on the right path, how to love, to be patient and to be kind.Posted by Picasa

HFDC Part 4

Like Father like Son.
One of the things I enjoy most about having a baby boy is seeing the likeness to his father. In utero we were already making guesses as to who our baby most resembled and my thoughts all along were that our baby would be like Chet or maybe that's just what I hoped since Chet has so many great qualities and is a phenomenal person.

HFDC Part 2

I love how you supposedly read in the baby book(s) that babies like to be "breathed on" and you'd get right up to Babriel and breeaathe...see that works! One of the many things I love about you, as a father, is that you actually READ baby books;)

Honey you are a champ when it comes to multitasking/juggling work/school and family!! I am really amazed at how well you are able to cope with the lack of sleep, demands of fatherhood, taking care of the dogs, and kicking booty in school. I know you wish you could be getting things done faster at school and want you to know that we are behind you 100%!! We are here to help if you need it/want it.

PS Gabriel is eating my hand and hitting the keyboard so I hope this posts.

Remember when you just has to have this toy for Gabriel? You're so sweet. I remember we were standing in the toy aisle and I was patting Gabriel's back and just as this couple walked by Gabriel let out the HUGEST belch! Remember that? The couple totally cracked up and so did we...aaah, the joys of parenting a boy;)

It's hard to remember what he was like when he was thing young/little. Look how big his pants are around his tummy-he's like a little old man with his pants hiked up that far...lol!Posted by Picasa

Happy Father's Day Chet!

Just a shout out to the best husband and father a wife and son could know.

Gabriel Stone Costales

Honey, remember how you coached me through 4 hours of at home labor and then 4 more hours of pushing?...you were my hero, my rock, my support, and really the most amazing coach and husband a wife could have asked for! After all the hard work i'll never forget how our midwife giggled and exclaimed..."It's a BOY!" I am so glad we decided to keep it a surprise and that we got to experience the entire process together.

You're a natural!

Remember how we all laid down and took a nap as a new little family? It was the best nap I have ever taken and it is certainly the most memorable. I hope we get many more family naps.

more Mother's Day

Our happy family on my first mom's day. We spent the night at the Lake House and were lucky enough to wake up to a beautiful and sunny day. The background/view of the lake is stunning. My mom made us a delicious brunch/breakfast and we just enjoyed the day. We had to go home that day because Chet had to get back to school so the remaining hours we spent in the car headed back to NC with a stop for dinner at Cracker Barrell. All in all it was a good day.

Gabriel with Grandma & Grandpa...too cute!

Picture perfect! Maybe this picture should be in a brochure for Ziebell home-building-the caption could read..."For a good life and a happy family contact the Ziebell family to start planning for your home in Kentucky."

Daddy playing Guitar

Chet joined us in Cincinnati on May 7th after he completed the second portion of his qualifying exams which was a presentation of his proposal. He passed on the spot! We were and still are sooooo proud of him!! He has been working hard to balance school and home and he's doing a fantastic job! I met him at the airport with Congrats balloons and in the car I had a celebratory 4 pack of Rootbeer and a card but the real gift was at the house. As a late birthday, early father's day, and congratulations gift Gabriel and I bought him this new guitar. We took it to the florest and had them put a BIG bow on it then we hid it in my parents house so when I gave Chet the "tour" I was like, "Hey, this is for you." He was very surprised!

Gabriel is enjoying the show.

How cute are these two?!
